Cooling heads
Wendelstein 7-X fusion reactor
The future of energy generation
Rosswag Engineering manufactured water-cooled cooling heads for thermal monitoring of the divertors in the Wendelstein 7-X fusion reactor. Thanks to the complete in-house process chain, the components meet the highest requirements in terms of resilience, corrosion resistance and precision.

Holistic process chain at Rosswag Engineering
Thanks to the complete integration of all production steps - from 3D printing and CNC machining to material analysis - Rosswag Engineering was able to guarantee seamless documentation and quality assurance. The entire production was carried out in-house, saving time and ensuring optimal coordination of all processes.
Fulfillment of the highest technical requirements
The water-cooled cooling heads had to withstand extreme conditions, including high thermal loads, corrosion resistance and specific magnetic properties. In addition, the plasma-exposed location with its complex installation situation was a particular challenge that was successfully mastered thanks to the precision and expertise in production.
"In this project, we were able to make perfect use of the advantages of our in-house process chain. After additive manufacturing, the parts had to be machined and technically cleaned. Everything under one roof at Rosswag"
