ForgeBrid®
Hybrid combination of forging and metal 3D printing
ForgeBrid® combines forging and metal 3D printing to efficiently produce highly complex components. Massive basic bodies are forged, while functionally optimized structures are added additively, opening up new possibilities for safety-relevant and highly stressed components.
Material
Stainless steel, nickel-based
Special feature
Hybrid production
Use
Impeller, toolmaking, turbocharger
Hybrid process chain
The ForgeBrid® process chain combines forging and 3D printing, enabling the efficient production of solid base bodies with additively manufactured, functionally optimized structures. This enables new applications for safety-relevant and highly stressed components.
Identical material batch
Thanks to in-house metal powder production, hybrid components can be manufactured from a uniform material batch. This ensures optimum material homogeneity and meets the highest quality requirements.
The ForgeBrid® combines the strengths of forging and metal 3D printing in a unique process chain - for highly resilient, functionally optimized and efficient components. Innovation that overcomes boundaries and perfectly combines our two business areas"
