Heat-treated steel | 1.7225 | 42CrMo4 / AISI 4140
Description
The heat-treated steel 1.7225, which is widely used in mechanical and plant engineering, has a high tensile strength and toughness, which is why it is often used for highly stressed components. The properties of the material can be adapted very flexibly to the loads that occur using downstream heat treatment processes. In additive manufacturing, specific alloy modifications and optimized process parameters must be used for defect-free processing due to the limited weldability.
