FAQ

What is metal powder and how is it produced?

More about materials

Metal powder is a fine powder made from various metals that is used for 3D printing of metal parts. It is produced by atomizing molten metal into fine droplets, which then solidify into powder. Rosswag Engineering is a metal 3D printing service provider that offers a globally unique variety of materials and prepares the metal powder in an in-house process chain.

An important requirement for metal powder is high purity in order to ensure the uniform quality of the printed parts. For this reason, special processes such as gas atomization are used to produce the powder. This process makes it possible to produce fine particles, which are required for uniform layer formation in the LPBF machine.

You can choose from over 400 different metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel and many more. You can also have a new material qualified if you have special requirements.
